Last chapter, Armsmaster was awesome for all the wrong reasons. Then he lost an arm and became simply Armmaster.
Also, Taylor found her calling in this battle, namely as a tracker for Leviathan. This chapter, we’re teaming up with a flier to do exactly that, which will probably allow us to watch some battles from the air without Taylor having to take part in them directly. Meanwhile, Leviathan appears to be heading for a shelter, possibly the one Danny is located in. If he gets there, things could get even nastier.
Without further ado – let’s go!
I think it’s a little late to start the liveblog now, so see you tomorrow (Thursday) for 8.5!
Both fixed, thank you! I do really appreciate when you guys point out errors like this. I want this blog to be as good as possible for both the serial and the archival readers, and keeping things in order and properly formatted are important parts of that.
It’s mainly one of magnitude. Things appeared kind of hopeless when the Undersiders were being guided/chased around the Trainyard, but it was nowhere near as intensely bleak as 8.3.
Ah, right, makes sense. And I suppose they might have people whose power is directly figuring out advanced tech on sight. (They’d have to bring one of those along to Bakuda’s hideout, since her hypothetical dummy bombs could easily (by her standards) be rigged to detonate on touch by anyone who isn’t her.)
I guess on some level, I feel the need to acknowledge that I notice them, but it feels too distracting to actually call them out in my comments. I’ve also thought “on the off-chance Wildbow ends up reading this, it could be useful to point out typos he can fix”, but that’s kind of unlikely […]
Huh. I guess it was more a result of my varying reading speeds than the chapter being longer.
True, though at least it’d let people say words to him. 😛 Sounds like it’d be awkward to call him, though. PRT person: “Hello, is this Scion?” Scion: “…” PRT person: “Uh, if it is… there’s, uh, an Endbringer in Brockton Bay.” Scion: “…” PRT person: “So, uh, if you could come deal with that, that’d be nice…?” Scion: “…” *hangs […]
Hehe, glad you liked it! I was honestly afraid it’d feel too forced, personally.
