I bet Lisa wishes she were in costume now. Maybe she’d enjoy the chance to mess with her kismesis a bit.

I just wanted to comment on how much I love that Krix references some of my favorite things. Whether RAFOs – which I admittedly know from Sanderson instead of Jordan – or his reference to A Noble Circle, or his casual inclusion of XKCD (I don’t think I’m making that up, right?) or any other one of dozens of references I’ve caught, it’s awesome that he’s just casually referencing things that I normally have to introduce people to IRL
Nice!
I’m sorry to say I’ve never heard of A Noble Circle before, so that must’ve been accidental (maybe I was talking about the Noble Circle of Horrorterrors from Homestuck, though I can’t find any mentions of that on my blog), but it’s fun to hear that my references are landing. 🙂
I know references can be off-putting to those who don’t get them, so I try not to rely on them too much for people to enjoy the blog without them, but I do like putting them in there. I mean, this is all about recording my thoughts, and my brain just so happens to love latching on to reference opportunities. And hey, I think they’re funny when you do get them, so why not?
It does mean some of my readers will have slightly different experiences from others, but that’s always the case, whether it’s because of references or other forms of differing life experiences and opinions, so I don’t think that’s much of a problem.
(By the way, there are probably many more subtle Homestuck nods in my blog than most of my non-Homestuck readers realize. Homestuck has a lot of little turns of phrase that can easily be woven into otherwise normal sentiments.)
For some insight into what the fuck I’m talking about with “mimema”, here’s an excerpt from the excellent Homestuck fanwork known as Pony Pals: Detective Pony. …no, really.
By the way: I’ve kind of wanted to avoid comparing the Merchants to juggalos, since juggalos have an undeservedly bad rep already (it’s a music fandom, FBI, not a damn gang), but… I can’t. The whole arrangement reminds me of a perverted version of a juggalo gathering (not that I’ve actually seen one of those, so I might be writing out of my ass), and Skidmark’s dialogue reads a lot like Gamzee Makara, a juggalo-based Homestuck character, to me.
The invasion of 11.5
Hey! Krixwell here, because the rotation in the Blog a little more!
This Time that man’s strength. Where this is happening. More specifically, we have to go to the Agreement of the Seller redband.
Indeed, it could be better, if this is not the Case. But it is, and Taylor and Lisa for him.
So we know Trading plan bloodshed today, so there is, of course, the Question is: whose Blood is that? Doesn’t sound like this Event in the short term, and You already had a special Attack against the territory of Taylor today, I doubt very much that You or Your Subject is Your Goal. That being said, I think that Target innocent People, and Taylor is difficult to maintain the “pure Intellect”. This can create Conflicts with Lisa, if You want to give Priority to Their Hats to keep, or Follow the original Purpose, but I don’t think that we really like. More Than That Brian.
So, without further ADO, let’s jump!
As for penis ouija, I can’t help but imagine Sharks’ adventures in finding out what that meant in order to determine if it was spoilers or not. 😛
How much you want to bet that stabbing was bad enough to hurt some of Skitter’s internal organs, piercing her costume or not? She doesn’t think about these things sometimes. (also I assume it’s a matter of time before you find an excuse to reference the penis ouija, if you haven’t already)
Hm, that’s a good point. It was still a pointy thing pushing her costume in towards her body.
I don’t really know what the chances of it causing internal damage are. Anatomy isn’t my strong suit. But it does sound more likely than Taylor thought.
…

I read Homestuck… well part of it. On an old computer that didn’t have flash so I missed all the interactive parts. And then I stopped reading for a while and I lost my place. And now that I have a new computer I’m really not feeling like rereading the whole thing to get where I was and see everything that I missed. It was entertaining on the first read but I have my doubt on the second one… I’ve been considering Hiveswap though, can one enjoy it even if one didn’t finish the story?
Absolutely!
I do personally think it’s better to read Homestuck before playing Hiveswap if you’re going to do both (Homestuck knowledge does put a few details and jokes in Hiveswap into perspective, and Hiveswap introduces some concepts from the second quarter and middle of Homestuck which one might consider spoilers), but Hiveswap is still very much designed to be enjoyable and understandable even if you don’t know a damn thing about Homestuck. Anything you really need to know, the game will introduce for itself.
I don’t have that perspective myself, but as far as I can tell from playing it myself and watching Jacksepticeye (who did have that perspective) play it, it does a very good job at being accessible and fun to people on both sides of the divide. It’s a slightly different experience depending on whether you know what Xefros is talking about from the start or you’re as clueless as Joey, but a good one either way.
Anyone else mentally picturing Elevatorstuck during that anticipation gag?
Ahaha, yes, that’s perfect. 😛
The faster you get through Worm, the faster you can get to the mspaintadventures-style quest that someone did for a certain Worm character on the spacebattles forum. It’s hilarious and you would love it.
Ooh, that sounds like fun!
