“Take two or three times as long, probably, if it worked at all,” Regent grumbled.  “Fuck, I’m useless.”

I wonder if this secret weapon might involve nerve signals directly in the brain? I don’t really see how that’d help, though, or why it’d be hush-hush, so I doubt it.

“Then use that first aid training Grue made us get, help out, and keep an eye out in case your power’s needed.”

Good plan.

Alexandria flew toward Leviathan like a black arrow.

Pewww!

Let’s see what this Standard Alexandria Package, and whatever additional power(s) she might have, can do!

Leviathan charged forward as if to meet the heroine in a head on collision, then stopped abruptly.  His ‘echo’, like a model of himself shaped out of water, continued forward with the same momentum he’d had while sprinting forward.

Woah.

The heroine used her hands to break the surface tension of the water with a deafening crash, plunged through the water and out the other end, toward Leviathan.

Niice.

She caught him around the neck and slammed him down against the road hard enough that even Tattletale, at the rear lines of the battlefield, had to adjust her footing as the impact rocked the ground.

WHOO GO ALEXANDRIA!

When the Dallon family watched the second episode of Gravity Falls together, Victoria managed to mishear the famous punchline, and voiced her confusion. It became a standing joke in the family to shout BUTTER AMY’S GETTING BUTTER every single time Amy was seen using butter, a joke which Victoria and Amy tired of much more […]

MORE DRAMA!!! MORE ROMANCE!!! MORE BLOODSHED!!!

Howdy! It’s time for some more Worm. 🙂

Last time, we watched an unfortunate outcome to Taylor’s confession to Brian. Now she has the heartbreak and awkwardness from that to deal with on top of everything else that’s going on in her life, which is kind of stacking up at the moment. Her confrontation with Danny (as well as the Decision) was yesterday, Sophia is pissed off to the point of brutal physical violence, the E88 are likely to come after her and the other Undersiders (though they seem to be taking it out more broadly, which I’m expecting more details about in this chapter), and now there’s this.

This chapter, we’ll probably start out with elaboration on the Empire’s answer to the email, which sounds like it involves widespread violence. If that’s something Brian and Taylor feel the need to go out and do something about, then we’re probably heading into the combat section of the Arc – otherwise, I’m (still) guessing something like that will come up later in this chapter, after a portion more about the heartbreak and awkwardness and what it’s like to stay at Brian’s apartment after the events of the previous chapter.

Whichever it is, it’s time to jump into it and find out!

ALL HAIL THE GLOW CLOU– I mean, hi! It’s time for me to read some more Worm!

So, last chapter seemed to conclude the Taylor/Rachel bonding time for now – but Brian is on his way, so I don’t think we’ll be leaving the doghouse just yet. Unless we’re going back to the Loft, I suppose, or (unlikely) skipping Brian’s reaction to what happened last chapter with the E88 members trying to either drive Rachel out or kill her – an incident which may have large lasting consequences, depending on how much Kaiser sees through his lackeys’ bullshit, how much he cares that it’s bullshit if he does, and how much he personally wants the Undersiders out of his way.

For the first two points, I’m guessing “easily” and “not particularly”, respectively, but for the third, it’s a bit less clear. I get the impression that Kaiser sees the Undersiders as not particularly threatening, but they are a minor obstacle when it comes to taking over the Docks, which has been a known goal of the E88 ever since Interlude 2. On top of that, Kaiser is a manipulative bastard who knows how to spin people, so he may very well have hidden his true opinions on the Undersiders behind a more careless facade. And if he’s figured out that the Undersiders work for Coil, or if he eventually does, all bets are off.

…I seem to have talked more about the events of last chapter than about this chapter in this post. Oh well,

I suppose that’s what happens when I have next to no idea what this chapter will be about (other than Brian’s reaction).

But hey, you know what that means? It means I’d better dive in and find out!
